March Astrology

March 2023 brings with it some of this year’s most interesting shifts in energy. For the past three years, we have had a very Capricorn heavy experience. This is an Earth sign, meaning that it relies on grounded realism and existing material resources. Capricorn is also what we call a Cardinal sign. An initiating drive to achieve certain results. Combining Earth and Cardinal energies together produces a sign that uses discipline, strategy and endurance to climb up and out of hardship and reach greater heights. In our lives, this has been the main theme for quite some time.

As we approach this month, our attention will be turning to a whole new set of lessons that our souls are here to learn. First up, we have Saturn moving into the sign of Pisces on March 7th. Saturn is associated with Father Time. It is a planet focused on maturity and responsibility. Pisces, a Mutable Water sign, is focused on adapting to the emotional and spiritual realm. When Saturn enters Pisces, we become responsible for our own spiritual well-being, as well as our mental and emotional health. Pisces encompasses the whole experience: body, mind and soul. What is good for the soul is good for the body and vice versa.

This will begin a time where the need to have some kind of spiritual discipline will be more important. Our rituals and routines will need to support our emotional regulation and mental stability. This energy encourages us to take responsibility for how each of us manages the unknown and intangible connection we have with the collective unconscious, and the mysterious cycles of life. Saturn generally takes around three years to move through a sign. This means that we will be experiencing this energy until around 2026. Have patience, take your time and deepen your relationship with your guides and your connection to serenity.

On March 23rd, we will have another planet moving into its next phase of development. Pluto will enter the sign of Aquarius. This is a, nearly, twenty year transit. Pluto moves slowly through the sky and its effects, though significant, wax and wane throughout that time. Let’s talk about it. Pluto is associated with the Underworld. Don’t get too scared! This is a planet that helps us develop our personal power by pulling up the honest and real emotional truth that hides underneath all the other fluff of ordinary life. Pluto’s main goal is to make us aware of the intensity of our influence and help us manage our ability to create and destroy.

Aquarius is a fixed Air sign and fixed signs are concerned with Authenticity. They have a steadiness and a loyalty to their sense of identity. It is incredibly hard to get a Fixed sign to act against their values. They live with great integrity. Air signs are all about connection. They are light and mentally alert, ready to consume and share ideas, thoughts, data and information in general. Aquarius is highly loyal to its aspirational ideas and focuses on influential contributions to a larger community. When Pluto is moving through an Aquarius expression, our social influence gains the potential to be amazingly creative and dizzyingly destructive.

There is a lot to be said about what may come of this twenty year transit, but what I would like to share with you folks is how you can move with intention during this time. We may not always have full control over the course of this transit, however, the most painless way to exist under a Pluto transit, is to allow the truth to breathe. Remember, Pluto is all about bringing awareness to the deeper truth that lies underneath the simplicities of daily life. Some of these truths will be hard to accept. Some will be invigorating and empowering. Either way, as we move through new Pluto lessons, we need to focus on how we are becoming more resilient in the face of fear; how we are becoming more trusting of our healthy sense of power and influence, and how we are expanding our awareness of real Truth that keeps us alive and awake.
